Kinkaku-ji (Gold Pavillion)

Posted by David (Melbourne, Australia) on 28 December 2008 in Architecture.

Kinkakuji is probably the major cultural highlight personally of my trip to Kyoto, Japan. This building made of gold invokes a moment of medieval Japan, which was built by a Shogun, Yoshimitsu, as a place for worship for Zen Buddhism.
